Just checking in...
Hello everyone out there in non-smoking land! Just thought I would check in to see all the new faces and hoping to see the same faces blogging, it has been over 6 months now for my better half and I and although stressful at times we are still one and will continue to be smoke-free. As I have said in many blogs, I don't ever want to have the need to quit again; it is something I don't wish on anyone. OK, now the weight gain needless to say it shifted a lot but mine weight shifted to my husband, who went through bypass surgery in January, so he is out mowing the lawn and I am going to do my best to help him lose at least 75lbs. I do not want him to have a heart attack! Any suggestions you guys have please let me know what I can do to help him. God bless you all and do the best you can to stay smoke free and keep posting to the blog. Be good out there in non-smoking land...
Summer B
Summer B,
Congratulations on your 6 months of being QUIT!!!
It sounds like you are well into your recovery from tobacco addiction. Your husband is very fortunate, not only in surviving the bypass but in having you!!! I know when my husband had his surgery it was a real wake up call to him and our whole family. I remember our cardiac doctor telling us, “He is very fortunate” and walking away. I thought wait I have questions! I need answers! I am truly aware of what you and your family went through, with that I tell you the best thing you did for not only you but your husband is to quit. Keep up your Great work!
P.S. Thank you for being here for others too!!!!

Thank you Lyd. I appreciate your email. It has not been an easy road and I so don't want to go back, but we follow each other and if either one of us were to fail the other would follow. We were hypnotized one time and quit for 10 years easy enough until you have a moment of weakness and light up a cigarette - BAM it was like you never quit. When you are hypnotized, they take you way back long before you knew what a cigarette was and you don't remember. There are no after effects, no yearning, you have no memory but dog gone it if I had known that was going to happen I would have never lit that dang cigarette! But after all those years I thought I would choke and gag, oh heck no it was like I never stopped and needed more.
SO this time we both quit cold turkey and anyone who ever has quit cold turkey will agree that is takes you to a place you never want to be again. I will always do my best to help anyone that wants to beat this horrible addiction, we just take one day at a time.
Thanks again Lyd!
